Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Jeff M. Wolf

With deep respect and admiration, we remember Jeff M. Wolf, an extraordinary individual who passed away in July 2024. Jeff was not only a valued Treasurer and Advisor for AGILE-International from 2018 until his passing but also a true friend, mentor, and visionary. His dedication to our mission of building sustainable, empowered communities was unmatched, and his legacy will continue to inspire generations.

Jeff’s Contributions to AGILE-International

As Treasurer and Advisor, Jeff brought his exceptional expertise in venture capital, asset management, and financial strategy to AGILE-International. His guidance helped shape our journey toward self-sustainability and refined our vision for the future.

Jeff also played a pivotal role in advancing our social enterprise, Djimi Djama. He offered invaluable advice on optimizing the e-commerce site to enhance user experience and drive sales of our handmade African handbags. His insights—from crafting compelling narratives to structuring financial models—empowered us to connect with a broader audience and amplified the impact of our mission. These contributions have had a lasting effect, positioning Djimi Djama as a thriving marketplace for African artisans.

Jeff’s deep love and appreciation for Africa was evident in all he did. He believed deeply in the power and potential of African women—especially those in rural communities—to lead with dignity and purpose.

A Legacy of Leadership and Compassion

Jeff was a multifaceted professional whose achievements extended beyond AGILE-International. As a CFA charterholder and seasoned entrepreneur, he advised and mentored countless organizations and individuals, sharing his vast knowledge and creating opportunities for others to succeed. He inspired us not only with his intellect but also with his warmth, generosity, and tireless drive to make the world a better place.

AGILE-International continues to build on the foundation Jeff helped strengthen. Today, our work in Mali, West Africa—supporting women farmers and advancing sustainable agriculture—stands as a testament to the vision Jeff championed. Through this work, AGILE has successfully acquired land for community farming, now cultivated by women who are mothers, entrepreneurs, and stewards of ancestral knowledge. These farms support families, generate income, and protect traditional farming practices.

Unfortunately, circumstance meant that I didn’t have the opportunity to get to know Jeff well, but during the video conferences that we participated in together it was clear that he was both highly skilled & knowledgeable in a wealth of areas and dedicated to utilizing those strengths to make the world a better place; especially for folks whom have unjustly inherited challenges just to meet their basic needs, let along to thrive. We only interacted a few times during groups organizational meeting sessions, which didn’t allow us to form anything approaching an interpersonal relationship, but it was clear through his personal conduct that beyond his wealth of skills that there was a strength to his basic character so his untimely loss is a loss to those whom loved him, barely had a chance to get to know him like myself, and to those who will suffer by never benefiting by the good things we all know he would have done.
When we lose a person it’s obvious and reasonable to deeply feel the loss of the hole that they leave in our lives, but I think that we can also take solace with memories of the person and perhaps with gratitude for the opportunity of having had the opportunity to know them in the first place. When Good people go missing in body, they live on in our memories and if we care about what they were about we can maintain that connection by pushing those things forward if we choose.

I wish you all well, and I’m sorry to each of you for your individual losses.
    Best regards,
    Trent
