This is Agile International’s regional update, keeping you informed about the

latest news from Mali and surrounding nations.

Although not exactly regional, but important. Today is the one-year anniversary

of the kidnapping of 219 Nigerian Girls. This grotesque human rights violation has

inflamed the world and sparked continuous hope for their survival and freedom.

This travesty greatly reminds me of the Ghanaian proverb, “An army of sheep led

by a lion can defeat an army of lions led by a sheep.” From this, a few article are

surfacing claiming that the girls have been spotted alive, I hope and pray that this

is true.

In happier news, Mali is making huge gains in nutrient rich food and cooking production! Which is one of our biggest goals here at Agile International!

What’s more incredible is that this endeavor is being spearheaded by the women

in the communities. These strong beautiful women are collecting the ingredients

and preparing the meals, making fresh and delicious nutritious sauces. From

NGO’s like Agile International, these women are being given lessons on everything

from farming techniques to cooking with whole grains, incorporating vitamins.

Until next time,
